Find and manage your Templates

The Templates section is where you can find and manage all the Templates you've created in Customily.

Access it by clicking Templates in the left-hand menu of your dashboard. From here, you can create new Templates, edit existing ones, check where they're being used, and manage their history.

Templates are displayed in a list that you can sort by creation date or last modified date.

Create a new Template

You can create a Template from scratch or start with one of Customily's ready-made Designs.

• Create Template: Click the main button to open the Design Studio and build a new Template from scratch.

• From Customily Designs gallery: Click the dropdown arrow next to Create Template, then select From Customily Designs gallery to choose a ready-made Design as your starting point.

Manage your Templates

Edit a Template

Hover over a template and click the Edit icon to open it in the Design Studio.

You can modify its artwork, personalization elements, and print file and preview settings.

Rename a Template

1. Click the Template's name or the pencil icon next to it.

2. Enter the new name.

3. Press Enter or click outside the name to save it.

Clone a Template

If you want to create a Template similar to an existing one, you can clone it instead of starting from scratch.

1. Hover over the Template you want to duplicate.

2. Click the Clone icon.

The cloned Template will appear in your Templates list with “cloned” added to its name.

Organize Templates with tags

Tags help you organize your Templates and find them more easily. For example, you can group Templates by product type, collection, or season.

To add or manage tags:

1. Find the Template you want to organize.

2. Click + Tag in the Tags column.

3. In the Manage Tags window, search for an existing tag or type a name to create a new one.

4. Select the tags you want to assign. You can add up to 5 tags per Template.

5. Click Save.

To remove a tag, open Manage Tags and click the × next to the tag.

Search and filter your Templates

Use the Search bar to find Templates by name or Template ID.

You can also use the All templates dropdown to filter your Templates:

• All templates: View your active Templates.

• Linked to products: View Templates currently connected to products.

• Not linked: View Templates that aren't connected to any products.

• Deleted: View Templates moved to the Trash.

To find Templates with specific tags, click the filter icon next to the All templates dropdown.

Click the Created or Modified column headings to sort your Templates, or use the pagination controls to browse additional results.

Check where a Template is being used

The Linked column shows whether a Template is currently connected to a product.

• A checkmark indicates that the Template is linked to one or more products.

• Click the checkmark to see which products are using it.

A window will display the linked products and indicate whether each is live or a draft.

View Template history

You can view a Template's history to review changes made to it and restore a previous version if needed.

1. Find the Template you want to review.

2. Click the History (clock) icon.

3. Review the recorded changes, including when the Template was created, what was edited, and who made the changes.

Restore a previous version

If you want to recover an earlier version of a Template:

1. Open its History.

2. Select Restore previous version.

3. Choose the version you want to recover.

4. Click Restore.

Customily creates a restored copy of the Template, so you can work with the previous version without replacing the current one.

Delete and restore Templates

Delete a Template

1. Find the Template you want to remove.

2. Click the trash icon.

3. Confirm the deletion.

Deleted Templates are moved to the Trash, where they're kept for 90 days before being permanently deleted.

Restore a deleted Template

1. Open the All templates dropdown and select Deleted.

2. Find the Template you want to recover.

3. Click Restore.

The Template will return to your active Templates list.
