Add multiple color options to image uploads

Last updated: October 19, 2026

You can add multiple color options to image placeholders so shoppers can change the color of their uploaded images when personalizing your products.

You can also add multiple color options to image shadows, allowing shoppers to choose their preferred shadow color.

  • Image color: Requires Single Color mode to be enabled on the image placeholder.

  • Shadow color: Available for any image with a shadow, even when Single Color mode is disabled.

You can add multiple color options in two ways: using a Color Library or adding colors manually. These steps work for both image color and shadow color, allowing you to configure multiple color choices for each property.

Tip

If you want shoppers to choose any color freely instead of selecting from predefined options, see 📄 Color Picker.

Add image color options using a Color Library

Using a Color Library is the easiest way to assign multiple colors to an image or its shadow.

  1. Create a Color Library if you don't already have one. See 📄 Create and organize a Library.

  2. Select the image element in the Design Studio.

  3. Expand the Color toolbox to configure the image color, or the Shadow toolbox to configure its shadow color.

  4. Click Pick Library for the corresponding property.

  5. Select the Color Library you want to use.

All colors from the Library will appear as options. You can click through them to preview how each one looks.

Note

To change the order of colors linked to a Library, edit the Color Library itself.

Add image color options manually

You can also create color options directly in the element settings without using a Library.

  1. Select the image element.

  2. Expand the Color or Shadow toolbox, depending on which property you want to configure.

  3. Click the color swatch for the property you want to configure.

  4. Choose a color and click Apply.

  5. Click + Add Color Option.

  6. Choose another color and click Apply.

  7. Repeat to add as many color options as you need.

  • Preview: Click any color option to see how it looks.

  • Edit: Click the pencil icon next to a color to change it.

  • Delete: Click the trash icon to remove a color option.

  • Reorder: Drag the dots beside a color option to change its position.
