Using your own product bases

Once you've created your own Product Base, you can use it to create personalized products with different Designs, whether you're publishing new products or adding personalization to products already in your store.

This is ideal when you do in-house fulfillment or work with a POD provider that isn’t integrated with Customily. Your own Product Bases give you full control over your product’s print setup, mockup, variants, and file exports — and once created, they’re reusable, so you can launch new designs in just a few clicks.

Although your own Product Bases don't include automatic fulfillment like integrated POD Product Bases do, Customily will always generate a print-ready file for every order.

When to use your own Product Bases

Use your own Product Bases when:

  • You fulfill orders yourself (in-house printing)

  • You work with a POD provider that’s not integrated with Customily

  • You want full control over your mockups, print areas, and file exports

  • You need to create print files with specific formats or layouts

  • You want to reuse the same base across multiple designs or listings

How to use your Product Bases

When you use a Product Base to create a personalized product, Customily automatically uses it together with your chosen Design to set up everything needed for personalization, including print-ready files, a product preview, and customization options.

You can reuse the same Product Base with different Designs to offer multiple versions of a product (like t-shirts for different occasions), or apply the same Design to different Product Bases (like mugs, canvases, and hoodies).

You can use your Product Bases in two ways:

Create a new personalized product

Use one of your Product Bases to create a new product in your store. Choose the Design you want to offer, and Customily will create the product listing with its personalization options, preview, and print-ready file setup.

Add personalization to an existing product

If you already have a product listed in your store, you can make it customizable without creating a new listing. Select the existing product, choose a Product Base, and assign a Design to add personalization while keeping your existing product listing.
