In some cases, the options you show shoppers should depend on which variant they’ve selected. Instead of showing all personalization options for all variants, you can set conditions so shoppers only see what’s relevant to the variant they chose.
For example:
If your product has a “Short Sleeve” and a “Long Sleeve” variant, you might only want sleeve length personalization options to appear for the Long Sleeve variant.
Variant conditions let you control exactly what personalization options shoppers see based on the variant they choose — making the buying experience more relevant, faster, and easier.
Common use cases
Showing or hiding a single option when a variant is selected.
Sometimes a variant only affects one part of your personalization flow. In that case, you can set a condition so a specific option only appears when the right variant is selected.
For example, if your product has a variant for personalization finish — such as Metallic, Glitter, or Vinyl — you can condition the color options so shoppers only see the colors available for the finish they choose. All other options will remain the same.Showing or hiding entire option sets
In other cases, the variant might change the personalization entirely, and the shopper should see a different set of options from start to finish.
For example, if your product offers Embroidery or Foil Stamp as a variant, you could create one option set for embroidery (monogram + thread color) and another for foil stamping (full name + foil effect). Each set would only appear when its matching variant is selected.
How to condition Entire Option Sets
Go to the Products section in your Customily app.
Find and open your product.
Make sure the product is already connected to a template and one or more option sets if needed.
Expand the Product Variants section.
Under the Assign Conditions to Product Variants section, find the option set you want to condition and click it to expand it.
In the Variant Conditions for Set area, click +Add Condition.
-
Configure the condition by choosing the Action, to decide wether the option should Show or Hide when the condition is met, and the Variant selection that will act as the trigger.
You can add as many conditions as you need. When multiple conditions are present, you can decide if they should be met all together (AND) or if any of them (OR) should trigger the action.
Save your changes.
