What are POD Product Bases?

POD (Print-on-Demand) Product Bases are preconfigured products provided by Customily's integrated print providers. They include everything needed to sell a personalized product — like mockups, print areas, and variant options — so you don’t have to set up anything from scratch.

You’ll find product bases for providers like Printify, Printful, CustomCat and many more, ready to use inside Customily.

What’s Included in a POD Product Base?

Each POD product base includes:

  • Variant options (like sizes and colors)

  • Predefined print area(s)

  • Export settings for print files

  • A mockup of the product

All you need to do is add a design to use the product on your store.

When to Use POD Product Bases

Use POD product bases when:

  • You want to publish personalized products quickly

  • You already work with an integrated provider like Printify or Gooten

  • You don’t hold product inventory and want a provider to both supply and fulfill products with your designs

How to Use a POD Product Base

When you use a POD Product Base to create a personalized product, Customily automatically uses it together with your chosen Design to set up everything needed for personalization, including print-ready files, a product preview, customization options, and automatic fulfillment through your selected POD provider.

You can reuse the same Product Base with different Designs to offer multiple versions of a product (like t-shirts for different occasions), or apply the same Design to different Product Bases (like mugs, canvases, and hoodies).

You can use POD Product Bases in two ways:

Create a new personalized product

Browse the catalogs of Customily's integrated POD providers to choose a product, select the variants and print areas you want to offer, and apply your Design. Customily will create a new personalized product listing in your store, connected to your POD provider for automatic fulfillment.

Add personalization to an existing product

If you already have a product listed in your store, you can connect it to a POD Product Base without creating a new listing. Choose a matching product from your POD provider's catalog and apply a Design to add personalization and connect the product to automatic fulfillment.
